You do know that it was God who found you? Right? He searched for you. He found you. He pursued you. He set His affection on you. He still does. He wants you. He knows everything about you. He has weighed it all up and made His final decision. He wants you. He has committed Himself to you. He has started to work in you. It’s good stuff that He’s doing in you. He doesn’t give up. He doesn’t let go. He doesn’t change His mind. He doesn’t have a plan B. He always finishes what He starts. He leaves no loose ends. What He started in you, He plans to finish.
This is not to make Himself look good or to protect His reputation. He is already good. He is absolutely good. There is nothing that is not good about Him. It is because of His goodness that He sought you out. It is because of His goodness that He started to work in you. It is His goodness that propels Him to finish what He started in you. You are not a project. You are not a task to be completed. You are not a mess that has to be tidied away. You are the centre of His attention. You are loved by Him. You are valued by Him. The Bible says that you are called by Him and you are chosen by Him. It says that He called you by name. He doesn’t call crowds, He calls individuals. He called you. You are His choice. He is satisfied with His choice. He chose you.
When He chose you, he had a place all ready for you. He didn’t pursue you and choose you and call you, and then have to stop and think about where He could fit you in. He hasn’t had to look for some place in the background where He could place you unobtrusively. You are His pride and joy. He is proud of you. He is not ashamed of you. You are His best and well considered choice.
He has called you. He has plans for you, and yes they are good plans because He is good. His favour rests upon you, because He wants all His favour to rest upon you.
When He called you He planned everything. There are no sudden surprises for Him. Whatever happens in your life, know that He has already been at work planning the way through.
When you accepted His call, when you gave in to His pursuit, He joined Himself to you. You are not some puppet, manipulated or directed remotely. Jesus now lives in you. He is united to you and He has no plans to leave you. He chose you and He has chosen to go through everything that lies ahead, not just alongside you, but joined to you – irrevocably.
He has no Plan B, no get out clause, no escape route. When He set about winning you for Himself, He had planned everything that follows. So He has no need for a Plan B. Plan A will be just fine. So do not worry and do not fear. Do not think you can’t make it. Do not think that you are not capable. Do not think that you are not good enough, that you are not qualified. He has qualified you. He is making you good enough. It’s in the plan. When He called you He planned everything. You and Him are going to cross the Finish line together in a blaze of glory, because you are already united to Him. Joined. Not linked. Joined. Forever.
